Who we are

YIMI SOLUTIONS (enterprise number 2026/189347/07; "Yimi", "we") is the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice, under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). You can contact us, including our Information Officer, at compliance@yimi.co.za.

This website

This website uses no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts. It stores one strictly necessary item in your browser: your cookie preference, so we can respect it on later visits (see our cookie policy). Like any website, our hosting and security services record technical information about each request (such as your IP address, the page requested and the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. These records are kept for a limited period and are not used to profile you.

When you email us or request a demo

The demo request form does not send anything itself: it prepares an email in your own email app for you to send to us. If you email us, we use your name, email address and what you tell us to reply and to manage our relationship with you or your organisation. We keep this correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose or as the law requires.

SANDBOX access requests

When the SANDBOX access request form is open, it asks for your name, email address, organisation name, country, an optional website and how you intend to use the SANDBOX. We use this information to confirm your email address, to review the request and to contact you about it. To limit abuse, we also keep one-way hashes of your email address and network address for a short period.

• Unconfirmed requests expire after 24 hours.
• Confirmed requests that are not reviewed are closed after 60 days.
• Personal details in closed requests are removed 90 days after they close.

Submitting a request does not create an account or grant access. The SANDBOX itself uses synthetic data only; do not enter real personal information into it.

Where your information is processed

Platform data, including SANDBOX access requests, is stored on Amazon Web Services in the Africa (Cape Town) region. We use service providers (operators) for hosting, email delivery and email correspondence, under agreements that require them to keep your information secure and confidential.

Your rights

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, ask for a copy of it, and ask us to correct or delete it. You may also object to our processing it. To make a request, email compliance@yimi.co.za with the subject "Privacy request". If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
